About Me

Why would anyone want to be an entertainer? Back in the 70's and 80's when kids my age saw the likes of the Jackson 5, The Temptations, and just Michael Jackson alone, you couldn't help but want to be an entertainer! Why did I? I guess for me--it started a long time ago. Forget the number of years--let's just say it's been a long time. Anyway, there were so many recording artists that I wanted to be or be like. Keep in mind I was a kid. I grew up in the 80's and kids were into a lot of the stuff that's happening right now in 2009.

Not everything, but a lot of the trends like the "so-called" new dances are very similar. My brothers and I used to pretend we were playing guitars with tennis rackets our father bought us for Christmas. We'd be mocking the sounds of electric guitars and singing at the same time. At least we'd be trying like something else to accomplish this task which was very fun! We liked the funk group "Parliament" and all of its spinoff groups. I was really partial to "Bootsy" Collins. "Bootsy" could play the guitar and I loved the sound of the guitar then just as I do today! I never really learned to play the guitar and the closest I've come was playing "Guitar Hero" on the Playstation! But why did I want to become an entertainer? Like I said, I was a kid and really loved the idea of becoming rich one day and having the world know and love me. When you're a kid, the beautiful thing about having a dream is that it doesn't seem that far out of reach.
